Coaching Staff
Skaters working on Skate Canada Tests must have private lessons from a coach.
It is parent's responsibility to contact coaches and arrange lessons before the skating season.
Once you have make arrangements with a coach, he or she will keep track of the amount of time spent with your child and will send you invoices at regular intervals. Invoices are to be paid directly to the coach, not the club.
Lesson will be needed for the various disciplines that a STARSkater will partake in and should be discussed with the parent, skater and coach-both the disciplines and the frequency of the lessons. Sometimes coaches may ask to give more lessons to a skater closer to test and competition time-please discuss with your coach.
ALL OF OUR COACHES ARE QUALIFIED NCCP INSTRUCTORS.
Skaters in PreJuniors may also take private lessons if they wish. There are some group lessons included.
Coaching info is included for CanSkate families as well so you get to know our coaches.
CanSkaters in our FastTrack session however may contact coaches for private or semi private lessons.
Suggestions on how to Choose a Coach:
All our coaches must have - National Coaching Certification, Police Check, Valid First Aid, be a Skate Canada Registered Coach. other factors you may wish to base your decision on: Consider your skater's personality and temperament, the coach's personality, their experience, their coaching philosophy, their availability and their fee. Skaters may have more than on coach for various disciplines but must always notify their base coach before adding any new coaches.
