StarSkate offers opportunities for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, freeskate and interpretive skating.  Unique in Canada, this program teaches figure skating skills in a group as well as a private lesson format in a progressive sequential manner and includes specifically designed awards and incentives.  Skaters can take Skate Canada Tests through a nationally standardized testing system.  Skills, Tests, Achievement, Recognition – this is what STARSkate is all about!

AdultSkate is growing in popularity, and more and more clubs are offering recreational, test and competitive opportunities to this segment of the population.   Adults participate in CanSkate, STARSkate and CanPowerSkate programs as well as on synchronized skating teams.  Adult championships currently provide opportunities to adult skaters to experience the challenge of a competition in a fun, social environment.  Skate Canada is currently expanding its programing in this area.  Skaters can develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, freeskate and interpretive skating.

Private lessons from our NCCP trained, Skate Canada Certified coaches, can be arranged by contacting the coach directly.
Private lessons are required for this level of skating.

Coaching...

For all our STARSkater's, its required to work with a private coach during your sessions.
Please see our Coaches Bios for more information!
Dress Code:
  • Dress Code :
  • Dress in layers for warmth (come prepared for different temperatures and change in season)
  • Hair should be tied up or / and away from your face
  • Skating dresses / skirts and tights are encouraged, especially before test days and competitions
  • Leggings may be worn, but must be slim fitting so a skater’s line can be seen (bent or straight knees)
  • No baggy or wide leg pants as they can get caught in a blade and can be a tripping hazard.
  • No hoodies
  • Jackets and / or tops should not be baggy as coaches need to see a skater’s line but also for safety as arms and hands can get caught up in the extra material
  • Gloves or mitts (heavy mitts are discouraged for  higher level skaters as its difficult to show expression)
